Sounds like this applies here -
0) No Warez. No Abandonware discussions. Links to content of a questionable nature, asking for, offering, or asking for help/helping to process such content in any way or form is not tolerated. No, it's not okay to request parts of a game either, even if you already own another version of it, or to replace damaged media. Consider Copyright FAQ.

I'm guessing he means games to trade. As in send the actual CDs. If not then yes you're right.

Also there doesn't exist a CD version of Maniac Mansion. Unless you count LucasFan Games' Maniac Mansion Deluxe AGS remake.

I'm not sure how to interpret the ISO part - did they put the Sierra games as iso files on the CD, which are mounted by dosbox?

I thought Rule #0 only covers Warez and downloads, these might have been legit CD trades :?

It was talking about CDs with .ISO images. I've never seen legit releases as an image.

There has been one instance, actually - EA apparently released the first C&C:Red Alert as freeware ISOs as a promo for C&C:RA3.

Indeed they released RA as ISO. Via download, not by CD. Despite it being available to download I'm not sure that you would be able to freely distribute it. It's not quite the same but they do say the following on the site -
- Please do not mirror the files on your site. Please only use the download links available here.
http://www.ea.com/redalert/news-detail.jsp?id=62

As they are saying that, I would take it that they want people to obtain through their site only.

The cynic in me suspects that they do that so they can pull the game from distribution when they feel like it. Kinda like with Betrayal at Krondor (other company though I think).
