SMI - Soundtrack Order

Post by Monkeyboy85 »

I had the old "no music" problem with SMI and ScummVM as many others have had, so I turned to these forums and found help. So I downloaded the tracks from the SCUMM Bar(http://www.scummbar.com/games/index.php ... dia&todo=9), and named them "track01.mp3", "track02.mp3" and so on. And List! There is music! However, the music playing at the opening screen was the "Organ Prelude"(which i named track17.mp3). So I changed the name of track01 to track17 and vice versa, and the opening theme played. Obviously, the track listing I found at the SCUMM Bar was not the correct order.

Now, can anybody help me with the track order? Playing through the entire game, changing the track names as I find mistakes, is somehow not very tempting...

can't you just rip the tracks from your own cd?

Well, Media Player says it can't rip, I'll try some other programs...

OK, got it after a long search for the CD(hadn't seen it in years), I could rip it with iTunes and rename the files. I made an rip of the game from the CD a long time ago, seems as if I didn't get the music back then.

yes, that's pretty normal since the cd uses multiple tracks, one for audio and one for data so you would need to use a containerformat that supports mixed mode cd's, like .bin/.cue.
glad it worked out for you.

there you will find a list of the files from scummbar and how they have to be named to be played correctly...

And in case you don't want to go through all that, here's the track order from Laserschwert:

And regarding the "Monkey Island"-music, the tracks are not in the right order on the game disc, so my "sensible" track listing isn't correct for the tracks to be used in the game. Here's how the files should be named. Note that some tracks are included twice, and some aren't included at all. Here we go (my track number coming first, the file name it should get coming second):

08 -> Track1.mp3
10 -> Track2.mp3
05 -> Track3.mp3
17 -> Track4.mp3
07 -> Track5.mp3
02 -> Track6.mp3
09 -> Track7.mp3
03 -> Track8.mp3
06 -> Track9.mp3
04 -> Track10.mp3
12 -> Track11.mp3
16 -> Track12.mp3
16 -> Track13.mp3
14 -> Track14.mp3
13 -> Track15.mp3
18 -> Track16.mp3
01 -> Track17.mp3
11 -> Track18.mp3
19 -> Track19.mp3
20 -> Track20.mp3
15 -> Track21.mp3
21 -> Track22.mp3
23 -> Track23.mp3
22 -> Track24.mp3

Enjoy!
