ScummVM and foreign laguages on OSX

Post by trenaux »

Hi all ! Newbie to ScummVM and already stuck !
Running G4-MDD 1Gz/1Gb OSX 10.4.8
Installed ScummVM 0.9.1a

ScummVM does not recognize any of the games I try to install.
Looking at the compatibility list, the files-to-keep are named such as "FREDDI.HE0". The files on my CD-ROM are such as "Marine Malice (0)".
So, what to do ?
Has ScummVM as special module or patch to read different file names ?
Is there a way to manually force ScummVM to recognize these names ?

All suggestions welcome !

You need to supply some info to pur bugtracker and we will add support dor the games. A good example could be found here

Hello ! Newbie back again . . .

Well, I have been playing around with the French files and could more or less run some games. As these files were not recognized on the CDs, I just copied them on the HDD and renamed them according to the "files to keep" decription. This is not a problem to me as I am used to copy a game on the HDD whenever possible, I feel much more comfortable this way. Then I can add the games into ScummVM. Here are my results :
FREDDI2 : recognized as french & windows, game launches, no MD5 mismatch (OK if no savegame path specified, get an error message if I specify one)
FREDDI3 : recognized as default & default, game launches, but MD5 mismatch
FREDDI4 : recognized as default & default, game launches, but MD5 mismatch (but CRASHES if I specifiy MAC platform)
PUTTTTT : recognized as french & windows, game launches, no MD5 mismatch
PAJAMA : recognized as french & windows, game launches, no MD5 mismatch
FREDDI : recognized as default & default, game crashes, and MD5 mismatch

As far as I could see in this forum, the games need to be "added" into ScummVM to be supported. But how to ?
- who should I send the infos, and which infos ?
- the french names of the files of the HSFS partition ?
- the MD5s of the files of the HSFS partition ?
- the french names of the files of the ISO partition ?
- the MD5of the files of the ISO partition ?
- or BOTH ?
- how to generate the MD5s, which tool ? on a PC ? on a MAC ?

I have more than 10 games to "process", shall I send all at once or is it better to do it one by one ?

TIA

One by one, to our bugtracker, in format as I pointed above, and please, do not rename files.
