License of lure.dat?

Post by caleb »

Hello,

I am a maintainer of several Debian official packages.

I want to pack "Lure of the Temptress" for Debian.
(Debian ITP: http://bugs.debian.org/478543 )

It is better to have detailed copyright and license data for (almost) every file in Debian.

There is no problem with those zip files of lure, but I can not find any license information of lure.dat.

I think lure.dat is extracted from the lure.exe executable.
If it is right, then I can safely say its license is as same as those game data.
If it is not, then I have to know the license of lure.dat.

According to HOWTO-Release of scummvm, it is supposed to release lure.dat with the main binary. However, Debian's scummvm package does not provide it. I think I should include it in my package, because sky.cpt is included in Debian's beneath-a-steel-sky package.

In short, my problems are:
1. Is lure.dat is converted from lure game data?
2. If lure.dat is not converted from lure game data, what is its copyright and license?

lure.dat is created from (hardcoded) data of the original executable of Lure of the Temptress (lure.exe)
