Split build from version 1.2.1 and there after!

Since 1.2.1 the Symbian build will now be a split build to allow it to still run on low mem devices. (and also a fullbuild)
From README
Release version: 1.4.0
* Symbian port now split in to parts, ScummVM 1 and ScummVM 2 to keep the exe size down.
ScummVM 1 contains the following engines:
scumm queen groovie saga drascula
touche parallaction cine
cruise made mohawk tucker

ScummVM 2 contains the following engines:
agos sky gob kyra(lol) lure
agi tinsel sword1 sword2
draci sci teenagent hugo toon

Out of curiosity... would a plugin based build make sense? (e.g. similar to what PSP and DC do)

Plugins would require quite alot of porting job to get it to work , and it might even not work. So thats why I opted for a splitbuild instead.

DOes that mean some games will need to be run on v1 and some on v2? How does a simple minded person know which games to run on which? Is the master volume thing fixed? :)

Seems like a strange design choice to me, especially with mobile devices becoming more powerful than ever.
It's definitly more complicated to use an looks strange in the menue.

I personally will stick with v1.2.
Thanks for your efforts thought, of course you can't make everybody happy ;)

Still people (like my self) using 64 mb ram devices. And loading an exe of around 12 mb leaving around 6mb for games is not a good thing for memoryhungry games.

Or should I do a tripple release? :-)

The 1.3.0 release will contain both a split and single exe file release (two different sis files)

Currently the 1.3.0 downloads are faulty, pointing to SIS files, its a zip file now.

Just a little thing: I installed the complete build and it's named 'ScummVM 1'. Maybe the full build should say only 'ScummVM'.

Neat, wasn't aware you had a blog, but unfortunately I'm quite unable to find the 1.5.0 build?

I did see Exult though, which made me very pleased, so thanks for that! :)
