wrong colors in nokia N73
Hi, i'm testing scummvm (scummvm-0.11.1-s60-v3.sis) on my n73 but on all games and the menu itself i get wrong colors and a too dark screen.
when I push the app button on the phone, I can view the right colors just for a second but then I go to the phone apps menu. When returning to the game I get the same dark colors again.
What is happening??
here are some photos
sorry about my strange english, i'm from Spain

No, the phone is new and scummvm was the first app i've installed. But after that i've tested with other games and apps (sis and jar) and all of them run perfectly.Anotherguest wrote:Not a clue.. it works well on other N73s.. Do you have any other 3rd party software installed that might cause this problem? Screenrotator, screenshot grabber etc.
Also tested with version 0.10 with the same result. No luck. I've tried this phone just for playing scummvm.
I'm not an expert but i think that scummvm executes a wrong graphics mode on the phone because just in the moment I change to another application I can see the right colors. Could be?
a video showing that:

Very strange. If its operatorbranded, the operator might have installed some kind of software by default which could cause the screen to malfunction.
I'm not using any special tricks for drawing to the screen, so therefor it should be ok. Its like somekind of screen effect is modifying the contents. As you can see by the dimmed screen, evertything is rendedred properly.
Any other N73 user which has seen this? Please try the svn version at http://anotherguest.k0.se and the scummvm section

yes, it's strange because it's the only app that has problems, divx player, flash player, gameboy, nes and snes emulators runs perfectly.
My phone is from Orange, i have a friend who has the same phone but from vodafone, i will ask him to test scummvm.
Tested scummvm-080421-SymbianS60v3_all.sis with the same results.

I'm googling for info related to this problem and in the forums of the vampent s60 emulators I saw this and perhaps is related to my problem:

Could be that scummvm is trying to run a wrong color mode for my phone? If you have color problems due to incorrect phone installation process, you should try following versions:
4096 color version: http://vampent.com/d.php?d=vnes1.sis
65536 color version: http://vampent.com/d.php?d=vnes2.sis
262K color version: http://vampent.com/d.php?d=vnes3.sis
Full package: http://vampent.com/d.php?d=vnes.zip
Previous version: http://vampent.com/d.php?d=vnes1.52.sis

I found a workaround to solve the problem
Here are the steps:
1) start scummvm
2) press app key to return to menu
3) start vboy (vampent game boy emulator)
4) hold app button and switch to scummvm
5) hold app button and switch to vboy (to set this app on top)
6) exit vboy
et voilà, now you can see scummvm perfectly!
Hope it helps with other people that could have the same problem.

Hi, I have the same problem. The workaround works without vboy as well. Just follow these steps exactly:
0. Install ScummVM
1. copy an arbitrary .swf animation on the phone
1. start SCUMMVM
2. Press AppKey -> Gallery -> Presentations (or All Files)
3. open your .swf
4. hold app key until the menu appears, switch to Scummvm
5. In same manner, switch back to "gallery"
6. press "Back" (video closes) - "Back" (now in gallery main menu) - "Close"
7. et voila, ScummVM with correct colors.
