All the inane chatter goes in here. If you're curious about whether we will support a game, post HERE not in General Discussion :)

I've found an advertising sheet which contains quite a clean version of the lower part. It's not high-res, but I think it'll do:

And the rest of that area can be found on the game's manual (there are some PDF-scans of it on the web).

Still, I wish there was a higher-res scan of the box-cover itself. The one's at MojoArt are all heavily filtered.

Yes please :)

Edit: By the way, which Maniac Mansion box(es) do you have, if any? I might need scans of the upper part (with the MM-logo) as well...

I only have the NES/Famicom versions of MM I could scan the NES box if it would be any use to you but there isnt much on it. Have a look on the lucas museum and let me know.
It might take a little while for these to upload my connection is running a little slowly.

It might be worth sending a PM to Glokidd on these forums,
He has quite a nice SCUMM collection and might be able to help

Here is his collection list

I have the Zak hintbook somewhere if I remember correctly it is printed slightly better than the manual, I'll have a look when I find it and if it is I'll get a scan of that up too

Zak cover is uploading now

I found an archive of the computer gaming world magazine
The magazine below is stored in full here

http://cgw.vintagegaming.org/galleries/ ... ub=2&id=52

Follow the link to the pdf file, I would link directly but they dont like it.

I think its a little better

Great stuff, thanks. I've mailed Glo-Kidd concerning the MM-scan... I hope he can help out.

Funnily enough, I've just stubled across CGW's PDF-archive, so I was almost there ;)

I'll do a scan tomorrow of my zak hint book and my MM NES box
if they turn out better i'll upload them.

EDIT: I've just looked at them, theres only a few minor details that I can see that you dont already have.
The zak hint book has a little more of the bottom visible than the manual, less than half a cm. if you want i'll still do it, and as for the NES box the top half of the face isnt obscured and Ron's name isnt on it (like the mojoart scan).
I have the spanish version too which is slightly lighter in colour and is easier to see the detail on the face.

No need for the Famicon-cover (at least not for me)... I don't really like it enough, to make a poster out of it ;)

I meant the NES cover, it has the same artwork as the regular relase. I've edited my previous post with a little more detail.

Oh, I see... I've confused the NES-box with the terrible FMtowns-artwork :P

Yeah, I need as much "clean" artwork as possible, so scan those babies too!

By the way, I've done a quick test with all the Zak-material I've got:

There's not much left to paint out, so I guess I can do it. Although I'd love to also get rid of "And the Alien Mindbenders", but aside from your mini-artwork I haven't seen any shots of it without that text.

It already looks incredible

as for that extra text the closest thing I have found is a box with slightly differently placed text, Im fairly certain its probably not worth the effort to paint in the tiny sections it would provide.

I will get the MM cover scanned tomorrow Its not the spanish hintbook unfortunately its very similar to the regular NES cover. I'll keep searching the web for whatever I can find.

Its past my bedtime now though so Im off
