problem in adding games to scummvm ds with sd card

Post by johnrogerrombo »

i followed the instructions listed on the chpater "How to Get ScummVM DS Onto Your DS - With a Supercard", and the program works!

But when I try to add a game, the program doesn't see the game i'm trying to add...

i tried with loom, MI1 and DOTT... where's the problem? i just put the game folders in my sd card as written on the site instructions!

I can't figure out this, can anyone help this poor desperate italian guy? (by the way, sorry for my english!)

May be a stuipid question, but do you go "inside" the folder of the specific game, bfore you touche "choose" ?

No files are listed inside the directory. Just enter the directory that contains the files and click choose.

Try the DOTT demo from the ScummVM site and see if it recognises that. It would tell me whether it's perhaps an issue with the versions of the games you have not being recognised.

tried it.

it says "scummvm colud not find any game in the specified directory!" as usual.

maybe i do something wrong.

i downloaded the zip file, extracted in a folder named DOTTDEMO and simply copied the folder containing it in my sd card... do i have to do something more?

I am having a similar problem with my R4DS I have just bought. I can browse to the game folder using ScummVM DS, but can't find any games files. I have tried using all versions of the patched ScummVM DS files, from a - h, but with the same results.

I don't know what to do!

M3 Simply == R4, this might help

Post by cde »

I have ScummVM working on an M3 Simply, which is basically identical to a R4DS card. Excuse the long post, but below is an old scummvm.ini file I found on a backup of one of my memory cards.

If you ignore the version info (first entries) and pay attention to your own folder names it might work for you, not sure if the mp:/ prefix is the same for every card manufacturer though. Compare it to your own scummvm.ini on your memory card, hopefully it will make sense. :)

Bear in mind anyone with Day Of The Tentacle should have a MANIAC subfolder, but don't add that folder as a game unless you want a standalone Maniac Mansion version. Which you might...
