WildMIDI support?

Would it be feasible to support the WildMIDI API as software MIDI player for low end systems?

It could be an alternative to TiMIDIty/Fluidsynth etc. which aren't available on all destination platforms, is lightweight and uses GUS patches.

And moreover, since I won't be able to do anything else, would it be a good GSoC candidate?
I could try to write up a task summary?

I'm not sure. I get the impression that it's more focused on handling an entire MIDI file at a time, not parsing MIDI events as they happen, so it might not be an easy fit.

Neither do I, really, and the documentation I found was rather scant. So I could easily be wrong.
