The White Chamber (v1.7 - Definitive Edition)

Target name: wmeunk-WhiteChamber-win
Game name: WhiteChamber (unknown version) (Windows)

No issuses in the game found.
Game full completable and works fine.
Testing speech, subtitles, load/save, intros, hidden scene (MES-Game), various right click menus (F10 and F11).
I've played various endings with German speech and subtitles.

One issuse in ScummVM [bug: #6839]:
The Load menu in ScummVM is empty (no save games from white chamber).
I can only load the saved game inside the game.

I've played with German subtitles from German localization installer.

Game full completable. Save, load and music works fine.

One Issues #6850:

German and Czech Language Version not detected, only English Language.
The Original Installer installed czech.dcp and english.dcp language files, the German localization Installer the files german.dcp and patch1.dcp.
When add "Five magical amulets", ScummVM recognizes only english language.
In [5ma-win] i edit language=en to language=de and 5ma play with German subtitles.

I have played the game "1 1/2 Ritter" without any glitches and problems (ScummVM 1.7.0) until the Minigame ›Hühnerroulette‹ starts. Then the game crashes... shortly before I saw the same graphical glitch, that WindlePoons shows in his image. If it helps, I can send you the game data (for testing only) and a savegame shortly before that minigame.

I have managed to complete Dirty Split and The White Chamber but has anyone completed (or even tried) any of the commercially available Wintermute games on ScummVM?

"Serious" testing has stopped due to the already reported bugs not being addressed...that is not an accusation, just a fact.
(And of course that is *my* reason i stopped testing WME games) :-)

Some examples for commercial WME games already reported (by me):

1 1/2 Ritter - Stuck in the options menu - not a game breaker, but still a bug.
Corrosion - Cold Winter Waiting - Crash when typing into a terminal pretty early in the game.
Ghost in the Sheet - Completable with lockups in all the "boss fighting" scenes (never bothered to enter a bug item for this one...maybe when the momentum on WME returns).
Rhiannon - Curse of the Four Branches - Completeable with a freeze in the final end sequence video.

With the current snapshot 1.8 I can play the ›Hühnerroulette‹ without glitches! The sprite of the chicken looks like it should be. No crash happens.

I decided to buy the game via the developer's website (and was sent to Humble Bundle) but all I could find was the Enhanced Edition. However, this version was detected in the same way by ScummVM as the original game.

I have tried random savegames from the first version and they seem to work perfectly well with the Enhanced Edition

Updated resolution and aspect ratio for widescreen displays. New inventory. Larger in game text for easier reading. And some other general improvements. It's in the description. :)
Perhaps that is why the savegames still work.

Edit : I retract what I said about the earlier version - I may have been playing the enhanced version all along - it's been a long time for me waiting for a particular bug to be cleared! Anyway, the latest version needed to be reported.

Seems my freeze crash has been fixed in the meantime, gotta update the bug report asap

I have also completed Helga Deep In Trouble (including the bonus chapter at the end) with no new noticeable bugs.

 WINTERMUTE: Don't crop UIEdit strings to negative sizes
If _maxLength was -1, we would end up with a 0-size allocation,
and a write that starts right before it, which gives odd results.

Game : The Shine of a Star

I have got to the end of the game but I am not sure I would call it completable, because I started it with the latest Windows 64 development version and finished it with an older stable Linux version.

I shall put in a bug report but the problems all come in the shovel puzzle area.

1. The background is constantly moving around.
2. The game randomly crashes on entry to the area.
3. Even more annoyingly, having completed the puzzle on the wall, the game always crashes before you can save the game.

I suspect there is a regression because I was able to use my Windows savegames on the earlier Linux 1.9.0 build and, although the background still moves, you can save the game after you get the shovel and continue onto the end of the game.

Edit : The ticket #9720 has been created.
