Delete scummvm-0.8.2-win32

Post by Philos »

First of all, I'm a newbie. :(

I downloaded the scummvm-0.8.2-wn32.exe Windows Installer and double-clicked on the file. The following message appears:

"The NTVDM-CPU has found an unvalid command.
CS:0f6b IP:030a OP: 63 73 73 22 20
Click Close to end the application."

I' not able to delete the file scummvm-0.8.2-wn32.exe. A message tell me that another programm or user is using it.

Please support me! What do I have to do to get rid of that file?

Reboot. The tell us the specs of your computer. Also there is .zip file which you can extract to any directory and run scummvm from there.

Thanks, but I've already rebooted my computer several times. I also booted the system in the safe mode.

I work on a AMD Athlon XP 1800+ with Windows XP Service Pack 2.

I once had a similiar problem - I think that, for some reason, Windowss was opening a reference to the file when viewing the file list in an Explorer window and was then not able to release it properly, preventing it from being deleted.

Your best bet is to there go to a command prompt straight after you boot Windows, then changing to the appropriate directory and deleting the file within it.

Thanks dreammaster,

suddenly I was able to delete the file after downloading the zip version.
Very strange, thanks a lot, sev, for your help as well.

Have a nice day
