Nippon Safes Amiga and PC bugs dead at last !

Post by dlfrsilver »

Ok, second post.

I have solved and fixed every problems in this game. Basically the translators have [censored] the script files.

there is no need to try to fix the game from the inside of SCUMMVM engine. simply make me a tool to extract and insert the files, and i give you a fully working language file.

I have already done and fixed the Amiga version, the PC version use the same files, with no powerpacker compression.

Who's with me ?

What bugs are you referring to exactly?
Those active ones on the tracker?
or those in the wiki?

All of them ! I have cleared and fixed them for the Amiga version.

The problem for me is to regroup the files from the PC version once fixed. If you help me to regenerate the FR language file, this is it.

No more hack fix to do in the scummvm engine.

Those on the tracker are bugs on the engine itself.

The real bugs are those on the wiki.

I'm dlfrsilver, the guy who patched and fixed Nippon Safes here :

http://www.whdload.de/games/NipponSafesInc.html

All the bugs present on Amiga are the same on the PC version, same places, same ways.

You won't find anything useful in the slave file source at the address above. In order to fix the language file, i had to extract all the files and fix them ALL by hand.

I tried to port my fixes on the PC version, but i have no tool to import my files in the FR PC language file.

Nice :-)

Though you probably won't get much attention on the forums.
You should definitely post a bug item which explains what you did and add your fixed language files to the tracker.
Reference the wiki entries and whdload.de.

This way more devs get notified and maybe one or two will be able to help integrating it into a proper fix.

You need an Amiga to fix the game files LOL !

I just need to understand how the FR language file works on PC. It's a 5 minutes story.

What i meant was to open a bug tracker item with your findings.
Add your fixed language files and ask for help.

With the fixed language files maybe some of the engine devs can point you to what is needed to re-implement them into the game.

Maybe it's even possible to add them as some sort of patch file which gets used/read instead of the original language files (iirc they are seperate from the rest of the game data?).
So, the "only" thing that needs to be done then, is to write some code for scummvm's parallaction engine to support your fixed language files (e.g. through using them from within [a not-yet available] parallaction.dat).
That way there would be a clean fix to all the problems you pointed out and no one would have to download extra files and move them to their game install (since parallaction.dat would be a part of scummvm's install files which everybody would have anyway).

Just a thought
