[solved]Legend of Kyrandia (kyra.dat corrupted or not found)

Hello everybody, I am trying to get Legend of Kyrandia running in ScummVM, here are the details:

Game: Legend of Kyrandia (bought from http://www.gog.com/game/legend_of_kyrandia)
Version: ScummVM 1.4.1 (Feb 15 2012 19:23:44) (stock Debian Wheezy package)
Error: You're missing the 'KYRA.DAT' file or it got corrupted, (re)get it from the ScummVM website!

Things I have tried:

1. Downloaded kyra.dat from http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Dataf ... dia.2C_The (tried both the DOS floppy and CD versions).

2. Downloaded kyra.dat from the 1.4.1 branch (to match my ScummVM version) https://github.com/scummvm/scummvm/tree ... ngine-data

3. Checked the file permissions - chmod 666 * (in the game directory)

4. Humoured case sensitivity by trying kyra.dat and KYRA.DAT

5. Tried the various revisions mentioned in this thread: http://forums.scummvm.org/viewtopic.php ... c4e87d70e9

6. Set the game Extra path to point to kyra.dat

Now the version I bought from GOG came bundled with ScummVM 1.6.0 (Jul 9 2013 11:25:59), and running it through WINE actually works. However I really want this game to run natively.

Version 1.4.1 is 3 years old now. Try getting version 1.7.0 from our downloads page:

Thanks md5, the game runs natively with the latest version.
