ScummVM on the crowdfunded GCW-Zero?

Post by cavinrocks »

Soon there will be a new handheld gaming device, the GCW-Zero.
It's from gamers for gamers, the OS is, as I know, Linux based.
I really hope there is gonna be a ScummVM port for this device, maybe the Linux version will run on it. More information and the abillity to be a backer (37 hours last) you'll find HERE.

Greetings from Germany

Um, there's no reason to masquerade links to code patches....

Having said that, the patch is pretty minimal, and reuses most of the functionality from the dingux backend. I assume that this is to be expected, since both Dingux and GCW-Zero are *nix based... so if it's that easy, then perhaps the dingux executable works out of the box?

The GCW Zero is running an OpenDingux based distro- the only issue here is that the GCW Zero boasts a FPU, which is the reason of the above patch. There's still the need of a proper way of handling the analog controller, which shouldn't be so hard.

And I already have ScummVM running on the GCW Zero, the above patch does exactly that. (I'm one of the developers of the Zero)

I masked the Link because this forum requires a minimum of 3 posts before you're allowed to use links (As to keep spambots at bay I'd suppose)

Thanks.

EDIT::

A little treat for you guys.

I still haven't got it, and the author just keep feeding us with promises.

I consider it was just a ripoff.

sev: According to the site, stock of the units have been shipped to resellers:
http://www.gcw-zero.com/store

Thinkgeek shows this as in stock and I doubt that is misleading:
https://www.thinkgeek.com/product/168f/

I would suggest e-mailing Justin Barwick, CEO of GCW directly about this at gcw@gcw-zero.com ...

Ah...
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gc ... d/comments

It appears Justin has had health issues and that is probably the cause of the delays.

*sigh* As with all Kickstarters, it is very "caveat emptor" :/

Edit: digged out my never-used GCW, installed Scumm, tested it... wow this device really sucks, back to the closet!
Rather game on my PSP!
