v1.6.0 Final doesn't detect my version of this game.
It's an English disc which only contains "setup.exe" (except for "autorun.inf" and "icon.ico").
I've tried installing the game and putting all files into the same folder, and I've downloaded and added "tony.dat", but still no luck..

Also, there doesn't seem to exist any .cab file.
..neither on the disc, inside the temporary setup files (which I extracted), or in the game's program folder.

Here's what it says in ScummVM's log:
{"roasted.mpr", 0, "06203dbbc85fdd1e6dc8fc211c1a6207", 135911071},
{"roasted.mpc", 0, "57c4a3860cf899443c357e0078ea6f49", 366773},

Instead of installing, could your try to copy the content of the CD and try to detect that? If I'm right, it should work based on data1.cab

Like I said in my previous post; there is no .cab file, only "setup.exe", "autorun.inf" and "icon.ico".
"setup.exe" is about 391 MB, and it's not detectable on its own by ScummVM.
I tried using "Inno Setup Unpacker" (GUI + innounp v0.38) to extract it:
h**p://sourceforge.net/projects/innounp/files/
..but its contents were the same as you get when running a normal install.

Also I tried renaming "setup.exe" to "data1.cab", but that didn't work either.

Here's a list of the files inside of "setup.exe":

I've added the detection. Could you check with the next daily build? (so, tomorrow)

Great!
Thanks a lot, Strangerke.
I'll give it a try when I get back home some time after the weekend.

Tony Tough Not launching on android (Kindle Fire HD 8.9)

Post by capnkirk »

With the latest Daily build I have almost every game I want working on the Kindle Fire HD 8.9, except Tony Tough.

I know there was discussion earlier about the color rendering being different for android, but I don't think that is the case here.

ScummVm detects the game. (I have all of the CD's files in one folder as well as the downloaded tony.dat file)

the game will launch, and I can see the hand cursor, but the screen behind it remains black. if I compare the screen to a pc version of scummvm running the same Tony Tough I can see there is a menu behind the hand cursor. if I move the hand cursor to where I think "New Game" is and click, the hand cursor goes away like it's trying to launch, but it's still a black screen. Any help getting this working would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

I have opened a ticket for this - Fix on the way

Post by capnkirk »

I've corresponded with Fuzzie and discovered this is caused by how Android uses 555 mode to display instead of 565 mode.
Fuzzie has indicated there is a patch and they are currently working it into the next build. When that's done and the ticket closed I'll post and let everyone know.

I cannot play my Italian CD version of Tony Tough, neither with ScummVm 1.6.0, nor with latest daily build (1.7.0git1605-g74cc4ae).
Game is correctly detected, but when I press start, an error message appears: "Error running game: Reading data failed". In the status window I can read: "Warning: FPSfx:LoadFile(): Cannot open sfx file!!"

Am I missing some files? Can this be fixed?

I don't have the Italian version myself, but in the English version that function tries to open the files U01.ADP and U02.ADP at the very start of the game. I have those files in a folder named "utilsfx", which is in a folder named "Music" on the game CD.

I have them too, exactly in the same location. That's odd.
These files are small, though, only 2kb and 1kb. May this be the issue?

No, that's their size in the English version as well.

Maybe someone could be find this useful

DATAFILES for Tony Tough (should work for all languages)
-Music Folder
-Voices Folder
-data1.cab
-mpal.dll
-roasted.mpc
-roasted.mpr
-roasted.mpu
-tonytough.exe (i believe this is not necessary)

Italian Version could show an error, however it will be detected and working.
