Can't change name?

Post by GeorgeQGreg »

Hello there... this is probably pretty stupid for me to post... but I guess I'll post it anyway...

Anyway, I would like to change my username on these forums. I have looked into the profile and there does seem to be a modifiable username section there but when I modify it the changes don't seem to go through... I am very confused.

Is is not possible to change your username on these forums? Because I would be quite sad if this were the case.

-Regards

Okay... I understand.

Would it be acceptable if I made a new account, then? Or is that bad too? (I.e. I'm stuck with this name)

Whats wrong with this name?

Even if you don't do any animations anymore oreven if you changed your name from greg to georgina...it wouldn't matter as, how do i put it politely, no one cares! :-D

Some forum software allow you to have a 'Visible Name', which means you can have a username and a separate Visible Name which you can change at any time.

Not sure if this does support that - may be an option within Admin or just not a standard feature.

I wish I could change mine to my name instead of my username, but hey :)

It's consistency... I have already had a forced name change on YouTube and have already updated my accounts on Twitter, Formspring and Skype accordingly... I want this to be corresponding... Only one I haven't really changed is Steam... because I don't want to lose my games and progress...

I have to question why you wouldn't have just regestered as james_woodcock or something... but hey!

Well when I first registered on this forum and others, I wasn't really interested in sharing my full name - but now I am a journalist and have the ScummVM Music Enhancement Project, it helps :)

My username here super blows chunks.

I think I made this account when either I was drunk or when my brain was leaking.

I sure wish that it could be changed. :(

Is there some kind of problem registering for a new account here?

I've tried 10 times now and it always seems to find fault with something that I've done and then kicks me from trying again every few attempts. :(

Sorry.

Nevermind.

I guess when typing in the confirmation code thingy, I had to enter the letters as all capitals.

Either that, or I finally got super lucky. :)
