D-Fend Reloaded not loading scummvm games?

Post by lukeman3000 »

I just got D-Fend Reloaded (v1.1.0) and have got all of my dosbox games to work nicely, but for some reason, I cannot get a single scummvm game to work.

I have scummvm v1.3.1 and before I got d-fend I had several games running in scummvm itself. Such as full throttle, monkey island, etc. However, when I try to add any of these games in D-Fend, I get this error message when I try to run the game:

"Error running game. Game data not found"

This error message appears inside of the scummvm window that D-Fend produces.

The only option in D-Fend (that I can see) as it relates to scummvm is the selection of the scummvm folder, which is correct. I double checked it.

Another odd thing is that I do not have a scummvm icon in the d-fend menu like I do for dosbox. (Where I can start dosbox without starting a specific game)

What gives?

It is definitely wrong forum. D-Fend reloaded is discussed in this forum thread on Vogons.

I think you are confusing some things, lukeman3000.

From the looks of it, D-Fend is a user-friendly shell to wrap DOSBox in.
ScummVM is not DOSBox, and has little to do with DOS to begin with.
You are trying to use screwdriver to hammer in a nail.

Actually, D-Fend Reloaded can act as a front end for ScummVM, from the D-Fend Reloaded website  :
ScummVM support:
In D-Fend Reloaded you cannot only manage your DOSBox based game but also your ScummVM-based games.

My understanding is that DFend just generates a command line.
Scummvm and dosbox both support running games from the command line right?
Figure out what command line it is generating and go from there.
