using the latest SVN version ive managed to get it run but the music is always freezing, has anybody on here managed to compress the sound files and does it lead to it running more smoothly? cheers

If I recall DW2 isn't a redbook audio game.
Also I've never heard of a tool for compressing DW2's audio.
So I assume it isn't possible.
It could be one of those games like Monkey I. 3, which works better with some builds than others, in that it's pushing the Wii so much.

This _may_ have nothing to do with the sound itself but with the Wii lacking horsepower to run the graphics smoothly.

I don't now how the Wii port of ScummVM works but if there is a way to run the game with a simpler graphics filter your should try that.

If I run Discworld2 on my PC with the 2xHQ filter the sound starts stuttering because the processor is choked. We are talking about an AMD Phenom class CPU here, not a 486 :).
Either the Tinsel engine needs optimizing, or there is some other problem.

I'm fairly sure the tinsel games will benefit a lot from a compression tool.
Unfortunately there is no such tool yet.

yeah we definetly need a compression tool, managed to get curse of monkey island running on the wii almost flawlessly once i compressed the music files

You might of asked about CoMI before so forgive me but I find 0.12 the best version for running CoMI.
