Why does the cursor click automatically all the time?

I'm playing my old Monkey Island 1 on my N82 Symbian telephone and love revisiting the game. However, it is unplayable as the pointer clicks all the time even though I haven't pressed either "mouse"-button. I'm in joystick mode and when I for example move the cursor to another part of the screen it is automatically clicks so that my character walks there as well. It doesn't occur all of the time but in most scenes.

Would anyone know why the game is behaving like this?

I doubt very much it's the game. I know nothing specifically about your Symbian but surely there are config options for joystick mode. I bet there's an auto-click setting that just needs disabling.
