secret of monkey island music

Post by Ell223 »

I've been trying to get the music on monkey island work. I've been looking round the forums and taken some of the advice.
I've got the white label CD version of it.
I've ripped the files off the disc and converted them to mp3 and put then in the same dictionary as the game.
I've also heard that the way they are ripped off and the way they need to be named are different.

Could somebody clear this up for me?

if you do not name them .mp3 and they still show up as mp3's, then no, you should not add the extension .mp3 to the files.

In ScummVM, select Monkey Island, press edit game, go to the "Paths" tab and set "Extras path" to the folder which contains the mp3 files.

Though in this case, the files seem to be in the same folder as the game data files, so there shouldn't be any need to use the "Extra Path"

I know, but in some cases that doesn't work like it's supposed to;)
It has happened to me too, FYI.

Odd. I've never heard of any such case. Is there a bug report?

That's the first time I hear about this as well. Music tracks work fine for me when placed inside a game's folder. Can you be a bit more specific?

Same here. I've never ever actually used the extra path for anything at all.

I use it for the engine-data files (kyra.dat, sky.cpt, etc.), because some of them are used for more than one game.

That's what I do as well, although <offtopic mode> it seems the "master" extra path is not recognized by Kyra 3 (kyra.dat needs to be put in the game directory for the game to work).
track01.mp3, track02.mp3 ...
Is the leading zero ok with ScummVM?
