Japanese compatibility

Post by scott32 »

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if ScummVM DS would support Japanese version of games.

I tried Zak McKracken Japanese, and the text is all screwed up.

Thanks!

That's how Japanese is supposed to look.

Haw.
In all seriousness, I think I once heard that the Japanese text is superimposed over the main game and in higher resolution - something that would pose a problem on the DS.

Actually, the Japanese text (which is displayed fine on my FM-TOWNS emulator) is replaced by random alphabet-based text, like when you try to open a webpage or program on an OS that doesn't support Asian characters.
