I find selecting speech options in touchpad mode to be a bit annoying - after choosing one option (then Guybrush has a chat), the cursor often remains in place for the next options. When attempting to move my cursor at this point a click is sent as soon as I start the drag - automatically selecting the speech option under the cursor. Does this mean I've accidentally enabled "click and drag" mode, or is this standard for the touchpad mode too?
That sounds like click-and-drag, same symptom we talked about above.

Not sure if there's a good solution for it, those two modes may remain incompatible.

i cant get ANY games to work.

Post by lkchbl »

ok, installed it, im on 2.0 btw, and
have been putting my game files into my media directory, and pointing to there.
i have tried monkey island 2, police quest 1, kings quest 3,
and even the beneath a steel sky release download from this site!

it just keeps saying it could not find any game in the specified directory.

also, i took the games out of the folders and put them straight into the media folder.

I dont get it. am i missing something? it's doing my head in.

Just select the folder that contains the game, don't "go into" the folder.

You might make sure you're getting the process correct.

Tap "Add game...".
Double tap on a directory name to "go into" that directory.
Single tap on a directory to highlight it and then single tap on "Choose" to tell ScummVM the highlighted directory has your my game files.

Remember, each game should have its own directory to contain the files. I use /var/mobile/Media/ROMs/ScummVM/<game> in my setup, because I also use NES.app which uses a similar directory structure.

Hey guys, im well aware of the process to point to a certain folder and choose, but - it doesnt work.
same thing each time.

i have tried having the games in their own directories, then tried with only one in the root media folder.

- can i use any version of the games - pc/mac etc? - i have tried games that are "compatible" as per the list
- do i have to compile or do anything special before i put the game files in the folder?
- does scummvm need anything else installed as well for it to work?

can someone email me a zip of a small game that works for them, and tell me what folder to put it in, and ill test it?
trackerfied@me.com

thanks

Be sure you're in the "mobile" folder on your iPhone, as opposed to "root", which also has a folder called Media. 2.0 doesn't check the "root" folder.

And it may be a good idea to double-check that the files have been uploaded properly, to where you think they have been (using an SFTP program or SSH).

I don't know to much on the iPhone interna, but can it be that the access rights are screwed up in atleast one of the folders to the game or the game files itself?

okay, probably not. Otherwise he could not even navigate to the games. Only the game files itself might have the rights wrong.

Does ScummVM run as root or mobile?

It runs as the mobile user.

So yeah, it could well be that the actual game times might have the wrong permissions.

lkchbl: Try going to whatever folder you have the games under, and do "chmod -R 755 *"

I had the same problem. The solution for me was to edit the access rights of the game's folder and files to allow read + write + execute for Group, User and Other. Don't know what access combinations work, but allowing everyone everything should do it for sure

So just sftp into your iphone, edit the access rights of the scummvm-games-folder and apply those changes recursively to all files in that folder.

Hope that helps!

Hm, nope, it's up there. I got the upgrade on my iPod, at least (which I use as a "clean" environment compared to the iPhone I use for dev stuff :) ).

Maybe Cydia failed downloading some package listings?
