video frequency too high (full-screen mode)

Hello!
I've been playing BASS just fine on an old computer, in full screen mode. The old computer crashed, so now I have a much newer one, but although I can still play BASS, when I hit Alt-Enter to do the full-screen mode, I get a message saying "video frequency too high". Anyone know what I have to do to play the game in full screen mode? I'm wondering why I could play it with the old computer but not the new one, especially since I still have the same monitor.
