Space Quest IV
Anyone else notice some slight vertical stretching occurring with Space Quest IV, regardless of your configuration?

Re: Space Quest IV
When I add the game to ScummVM, I'm given the option of adding it as "Space Quest IV: Roger Wilco and the Time Rippers (CD/DOS/English)" or "Space Quest IV: Roger Wilco and the Time Rippers (CD/Windows/English)". If I choose the latter, it stretches the game. If I choose the former, it doesn't. There are a couple of other Sierra games where ScummVM can imitate either the DOS or the Windows version. I'm not sure exactly how they differ, though.Dralafi_XIII wrote: Fri Aug 28, 2026 2:57 pm Anyone else notice some slight vertical stretching occurring with Space Quest IV, regardless of your configuration?

Re: Space Quest IV
Looking through my Sierra games, at the very least the following allowed me to add the same data files as either a DOS or a Windows version. From a quick look...
- EcoQuest: The Search for Cetus. The Windows version has stretched graphics.
- EcoQuest II: Lost Secret of the Rainforest. The Windows version has stretched graphics.
- Gabriel Knight: The Sins of the Fathers. The Windows version stretches the graphics and adds some high-resolution graphics. (At least in ScummVM the DOS version has an option to "Enable high resolution graphics".)
- Jones in the Fast Lane. I don't see any obvious differences.
- King's Quest V: Absence Makes the Heart Go Yonder. The Windows version offers an option to use different mouse cursors.
- King's Quest VI: Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow. The intro looks a bit different. The Windows version has some high resolution graphics (that the DOS version has an option to enable) and offers an option to use different mouse cursors.
- King's Quest VII: The Priceless Bride. I think the Windows version has better quality for the intro animation, at least?
- The Dagger of Amon Ra: The Windows version has stretched graphics, and offers an option to use different mouse cursors.
- Pepper's Adventures in Time: The Windows version has stretched graphics. The Windows version offers an option to use different mouse cursors.
- Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness. I didn't notice any difference.
- Space Quest IV: Roger Wilco and the Time Rippers. The Windows version has stretched graphics and offers an option to use different mouse cursors.
