Hello,
I try to get "Clever&Smart - A Movie Adventure" running on my Android tablet. ScummVM is 2026.1.0
I own the German version of the game. Every attempt so long to get it run failed. It should run, shouldn't it?
This message appears when I try to add the game: "ScummVM could not find any game in the specified directory! Have you given ScummVM access rights to this directory? Press the help button [?] on the top for detailed instructions."
Is there any workaround? What do I have to do?
THX
How do I get "Clever & Smart - A Movie Adventure" running on ScummVM Android? Game isn't even recognized.

Note: I'll be moving this topic to the ScummVM "Android Port" subforum, where this discussion belongs.Luca_sp wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 2:36 pm I try to get "Clever&Smart - A Movie Adventure" running on my Android tablet. ScummVM is 2026.1.0

Please clarify the following for us please:
1. Is this German version of the game, as installed/coppied to your game data folder, properly detected and launching on ScummVM desktop?
2. What is your Android OS version?
3. Are you able to successfuly add other games to your Android ScummVM app? Is the issue specific to this game only?
If you can't add games in general, then you should probably make sure you follow the instructions provided via the Help button ('[?]'), also provided here in the online documentation: https://docs.scummvm.org/en/latest/othe ... ding-games

Hello,
yes, it's the German version of the game.
My device is a Xiaomi Pad 5 with Android 13.
So far I had no issues installing and run other games like "Full Throttel". "Toonstruck", "Sam & Max Hit The Road", "Flight of the Amazon Queen" or "1 1/2 Ritter: Auf der Suche...". Everthing worked and still works fine. Every game is detected correctly by ScummVM.
As I mentioned in my first post I use the latest ScummVM version 2026.1.0.
My first attempt to make "Clever & Smart" run was to copy the content of the game cds to my Xiaomi Pad 5. The second attempt was: installing the game on my Windows PC where the game runs fine. And since the game runs fine on my computer I simply copied the whole game directory from my pc's hard disk to my Android Tablet.
In both cases the game isn't recognized by ScummVM...
I have no idea what's wrong...

Re: How do I get "Clever & Smart - A Movie Adventure" running on ScummVM Android? Game isn't even recognized.
Thank you for testing.
Unfortunately, as of yet, I can't tell what could be wrong with your setup/configuration.
I installed my Steam copy of the game yesterday (on Windows), (this is the English and Spanish versions), then copied over the files on my Android device (Android 16). The games are detected without issues with the ScummVM app v2026.1.0, and also launch ok -- I've only tested up to a bit of the intro cutscene, but spotted no issues.
My Android 16 device shouldn't in theory behave differently, as far as file access authorization goes anyway, from an Android 13.
Potential culprits in your case:
- Not all files were copied over, or were corrupted during copy. The game has a lot of files, at least in the Steam installation case; it was around 11200, but that is for both English and Spanish versions together. It took several minutes to complete a copy.
- The game folder was not copied into a parent folder to which you've granted ScummVM autorization for access. This is less likely, since you must have done this for the other games that you've got running with ScummVM, but I can't dismiss the possibility entirely.
- You didn't point ScummVM to the correct folder with the required structure for detection, during the Game Add attempt. Again this is unlikely since you wrote you've copied a folder as it was, and was working on desktop PC. So the structure should be correct (provided all files were copied). Better to double check anyway though.
For correct detection of the German version(s) that we know of, at the very least, ScummVM expects two files to be within the game folder (both are in subfolders). One is under "Textos" folder the other under the "Data" folder. They are:
Can you check that these files exist under the folder you're pointing ScummVM at during game addition, and that they are in the correct subfolder respectively?

Hello Praetorian,
thank you for your support. I don't know what I did wrong in my first attempts. After deleting all game files from my tablet, I copied the files once again onto the tablet. Now everything's fine. It's very strange that it's working now, even though I haven't done anything differently than before.
Greetings.
