Which games would you like to be supported on the future?

All the inane chatter goes in here. If you're curious about whether we will support a game, post HERE not in General Discussion :)

The earliest example of a real time adventure game I remember playing was The Hobbit on a friend's ZX Spectrum. Though "real time" may be stretching it. If you didn't type anything, the game would just act as if you had typed "WAIT". So Border Zone (Infocom, 1987) is probably a better example. There time passes, without the game explicitly telling you other than by the clock in the status line. (Or if something happens.)

Yes there are undoubtedly a lot of them I'm forgetting or slipped through the cracks into obscurity.

Real time with a time limit is a bit of challenging sell to players (or more to the point, to producers\financers).

I want to say most of the games from the company that did the spellcasting 101 series and a mind forever voyaging also had a real time clock (but I'm not sure anymore, lots of years), if it even mattered except to out puzzles solutions only at certain times of a infinite day cycle, so I can safely say it was a more common design in interactive fiction (smaller teams, smaller costs, total creative control often I guess).

Speaking of that company, I hope one day ScummVM will support SuperHero League of Hoboken... it's so good. It's so funny. It's so unique. Scummvm is supporting a few rpgs now so a hybrid Lots of text adventure\very simple rpg designed by Steve Meretzky sounds a perfect fit and will make more people aware of it.

A Mind Forever Voyaging was by Infocom. It had a clock in the status line, but time only passed when you typed a command. Not like Border Zone, where time passed whether you typed or not. Spellcasting 101 was by Legend Entertainment. I don't remember real time being a feature in any of their adventure games, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong about that.

(There is a common element between A Mind Forever Voyaging and Spellcasting, though: Steve Meretzky made both.)

Time only mattered in legend entertainment games because certain events\puzzle solving opportunities would only happen at certain times iirc. I'm unsure if you could loiter forever in all games but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a very generous game over after say, a week or 3 of game time, depending on the plot. I want to say time passed only by player action in all his games. But I'm not sure anymore, could be both in at least some of them.

Hello there
I've been having a heck of a time trying to get Mystery of the Nautilus (also called Secret of the Nautilus in some markets) working using WINE on Linux. Would be really cool to see this Mystlike get scummvm support.

Also another vote for Titanic Out of Time and Dust: A Tale of the Wired West (first one has gog/steam release but the 2nd isn't and also difficult to get working on modern systems).

Anyways really huge thanks to everyone who works on scummvm. Just found out The Space Bar and Obsidian have support now, 2 games I never finished as a kid and now I have a chance.

I would like to see in ScummVM Journey to the Center of the Earth (there are two versions: original with full content, and "optimised" Steam version with many puzzles cut out completely), Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, and Tanita: A Plasticine Dream. Also, I'd like to see various games by Kheops Studio, as almost all of them use the same engine and just really ask to be ported into the platform.

Here's the list of games made by Kheops:
  • Jeff Wayne's The War Of The Worlds (1999)
  • Egypt III: The Fate of Ramses (2004)
  • Crystal Key 2 (2004)
  • Return to Mysterious Island (2004)
  • Echo: Secrets of the Lost Cavern (2005)
  • Voyage: Inspired by Jules Verne (2005)
  • The Secrets of Da Vinci: The Forbidden Manuscript (2006)
  • Safecracker: The Ultimate Puzzle Adventure (2006)
  • Destination: Treasure Island (2006)
  • Cleopatra: Riddle of the Tomb (2007)
  • Nostradamus: The Last Prophecy (2007)
  • Dracula 3: The Path of the Dragon (2008)
  • Return to Mysterious Island 2 (2009)
  • The Fall Trilogy: Separation (2009)
  • The Fall Trilogy 2: Reconstruction (2010)
  • The Fall Trilogy 3: Revelation (2011)
Note: the last three ones (The Fall Trilogy) in terms of gameplay are actually blends of a classical Kheops adventure game and “hidden object” genre. Still, they're at least somewhat interesting, so why not (though I'm not sure what engine these three use).

I think i still have Rafal email somewhere if necessary...
Last time i spoke to him he still had source codes somewhere on a HDD ;)

If needed i have both games in ENGLISH and FRENCH version , floppy & CD-ROM if necessary...
Up for this.
Did anyone heard/read news/update about these GEM of point & click games engine potentially ported on ScummVM ?

Well, since it's a wishlist...

The Gene Machine (so underrated...)
Discworld Noir
Black Dahlia
Ripper
Gabriel Knight 3 (hey, it's a wishlist, so I can put it in!)
Tex Murphy, at least 3 and 4 but preferably as many as possible. :) (wishing is unrealistic and fun!)

TellTale games? It would open the door to Sam and Max, and their Monkey Island.
Speaking of, Return to Monkey Island (ah, wishing...)

And Valhalla Classics, but I made a post about that already.

EDIT - And, because I'm a completionist, it annoys me just a smidge to have only some Might and Magic games, or some Ultima games, but not all. Same with Lands of Lore. Same with any series, really.

EDIT - And, ANY Legend Entertainment adventure game. Be it Eric the Unready or Spellcasting 101, or Callahan's Crosstime Saloon, or John Saul's Blackstone Chronicles. They're all gems.

EDIT - And Harvester. The horror game.
