No sound on MotoA925

Post by Isaac_A_Steiner »

Hi there,
I just d/l scummvm-0.8.2-uiq2.sis for my Moto A925.
Neither on MI nor Loom there's any sound.

With the previous version everything worked fine.

What am I doing wrong?

regards,
Isaac

just a wild guess, but both games have CD versions with audio tracks - if you are using ripped audio, maybe there's a problem with audio decompression?

don't have any SymbianOS based device though

Thanks Clem,

but I used only non-Cd audio games for far.

I will try MI CD later.

This is just a "mee too". I've been happily using the old EScummVM port before it was incorporated into the official ScummVM. But when upgrading to 0.9, there's no longer any sound for any games on my A925.

Well.. thats strange.. because it should be sound, even though the motos support for output stream is n't that good. A way to go would be a specific Moto version using MOTO apis.. but output stream should work fine, just as the sampleratez is as Moto like it.

And you say no sound.. but no crash either?! Which version of the games are you trying?

Thanks for your reply.

These are the games I've currently installed:

Day of the tentacle (CD version with speech reencoded as MP3)
Monkey Island 1 and 2 (DOS versions)
Simon the sorcerer 1 and 2 (DOS CD versions with speech reencoded as MP3)

They're all completely silent with ScummVM 0.9.0, but sounded just fine with 0.7 (I think it was). Not even music is playing.

An no crashes that I've noticed. The only thing that seems to be wrong is the missing audio.

Strange.. Sound system should be pretty much the same between 0.7 pre releases and 0.9 but audio in the SDL backend has been improved. Well.. Just have to find a Axxx to test with my self. Is it the same for A1000? Anyone who knows?

Hi

Sound doesn't work for me either on my A925.
The old version which doesn't seem to be an official build however worked.

Any ideas?
