Running Monkey 3 on an 8gb Memory Stick woes.....

Post by Rain »

Hi all, anybody know if this is possible? Whenever I load it, it gets stuck accessing the memory stick when Guybrush turns to say something in Part 1... Everything before it works fine.

The files are from my own CD's and run fine on a 4GB stick.

You are running ScummVM on 1.50 kernal, no?

How full was your 8GB stick when you added CoMI?

which firmware do you use?
try upgrading to the lastest custom firmware (3.80 m5)
if that doesn't help you have to use the 4GB stick.

There are various problems with homebrew and iso games from 8GB memorysticks...

I am using 3.80 m33-5
and running latest version SCUMMVM. my curse of monkey island 3 runs, but it slows down badly like 2 frame/s
and the audio dialogue sounds like random distorted blips and bloop

I have tried defragmented my 4gb sandisk, but doesnt help
setting my run mode as 333mhz doesnt help too

what am i missing here?

I'm pretty sure you have to format the card to FAT16.

I remember seeing some thread about it, somewhere.

edit: just found it!

HI, thanks for the info, but my stick is already fat16
Any idea if it is not suppose to run at fullspeed on non 1.5ver?

Hey boonerite. Sorry for the long time to reply.

Try the fatmsmod -

Video for noobs, but necessary files included in it's description :)

Flashing this little prx makes the fw read larger MS blocks or something along the lines. It really makes things run faster.

Be sure to put the flasher in 3.x kernel dir.

I'd advice to update to 3.90 before doing this.
