StS II: Use hotkey with joypad?

Post by samwise »

Hi,

In Simon the Sorcerer II, you can press F10 to see all the characters and objects you can interact with. I'm playing the game using a joypad, not near the keyboard. Is there a way I can map the F10 key (or the hotkeys in other games) to one of my joypad's unused buttons?

I run Linux, so that won't work for me. I'll look for a similar alternative, if ScummVM can't be configured like this, but mapping buttons to functions just seems like a feature I thought ScummVM would support. MAME and MESS do it, for instance - they use .ctrlr files to allow you to map any buttons you want to any function.

Hmm ... just had a look and can't find an equivalent for Linux, and Joy2Key won't work under WINE, apparently.

:/

Just a note for anyone interested to say I filed this as a feature request.
