complete beginner need help working Broken Sword 2 on mac

Post by tarisian »

Hi there I know there have been afew topics on this but I am a complete noob and would really really appreciate it if i could get an idiots guide how to run sold out edition BS2 on leopard. I can run it through scumm straight off the disc but I dont get the cut scenes, I downloaded them but I dont know how to apply them. I dont understand if I need to somehow make a Disk image of the CD then add them? Help would be much appreciated!

if you want to play with cutszenes, you have to copy the content of your discs onto your harddrive and then put the cutscene pack into it.

The problem with the cutscenes is that they are Smacker-Files, wich cant be read by scummVM and therefore msut be convertet to DXA, wich is a pain in the ass.

this excellent guide should help to make your Broken Sword experience perfect:

Drag and drop.
its really that plain simple.
just open the CD, mark al filles and drag them to the place you want them to.

Add the folder too scummVM.
Thats all.
Maybe you have to use the Folder-Structure mentioned in the thread.

I keep mine in the same folder as the rest of the game's data files. (ScummVM should be able to find them there, even if they're in a "video" sub-folder.)

Isn't that something on the Sold-Out Software release of the game? I can't check at the moment, and I don't remember which files are in it.

oh, yeh, sorry. I didn't notice it was the mac version.

Have you tried directing the 'Extras path' to the video folder?

I simply put the video folder inside the folder where I keep all the game's data files (paris.clu, docks.clu, etc.).

(Those filenames are from memory, so I may misremember them.)
