MI2 does not have CD Audio tracks. The audio for it is all MIDI which means the quality of the sound is related to the MIDI options of your soundcard, if you have say a Creative Sound Blaster Live! soundcard you have the option of soundfonts, which are a replacement set of samples for the GM instruments which usually sound better than the standard OPL2/3 or the Roland MT-32.

There's an article in the forums here on using soundfonts which will let you make use of them under Windows at least, as the guide was written for Windows, not other OSes though some of the tools for using soundfonts exist on MacOS X and Linux.

As for Sam'n'Max... the CD music is not used. Search the forums:

Apparently this same problem shows up at http://forums.scummvm.org/viewtopic.php ... sc&start=0, so if anyone else cares, look at the posts there.

I thought you said that you didn't change any audio options?

I didn't change any audio options, but the audio changed on me. I'm just trying to figure out how the iMuse and MIDI systems work, so I can figure out why the sound is suddenly worse.
