Sound Problems (?) with CMI on ScummVM

I followed the instructions, extracting COMI.LA0, COMI.LA1, COMI.LA2 and teh RESOURCE folder from the CDs, but when I get as far as the treasure hold, no matter what action a take, even picking up the bag like I'm supposed to, i get the console coming up and some sort of 'compressed sound file 2133 not correct' or something like that. Any action at all in that room results in that, while everything before the ship sinking cut scene is perfect. Is there a way to fix this or are my disks just damaged or what?
