Loom FMT Difficulty

Post by Muyfa666 »

Hi. I'm having a hard time understanding how to set the difficulty for Loom FMT. The chart says set from command line, but does ScummVM even have a command line?

Help pls.

If you are using a PC, use Command Prompt/MS-DOS.

You can also edit your ScummVM.ini config file, look up for the Loom FM-Towns entry and add the following argument:

boot_param=x

where x is either 0 (practice), 1 (standard) or 2 (expert).

Strange thing here... I have no ScummVM.ini. I am using the latest stable build.

Yay! Found it. Worked fine too. Tnx alot.

While I'm on topic...

When I start playing Loom FMT I have the wonderful CD music, but if I load a saved game, it suddenly plays midi only. How come?

Midi?

In the FM-Towns version, each musical cue is played in two audio CD variations -- the first one is orchestral, the second one (which serves as the looping track) is more "electronic". That's probably what you describe as "midi".

Or maybe you're saying that the game actually uses your MIDI synth?

Yea, your looping theory sounds right. It's more electric sort of speaking. Tnx alot mate.

EDIT: Double checked it, and you are definitly right. :-)
