Dreamweb animations seems slower on newer builds

Post by filipetolhuizen »

Hello,
It's been like a month that I've been noticing Dreamweb animations playing slower than usual. This doesn't seem to be a performance issue, as the mouse movement is still smooth and hasn't changed, there's also no jerkyness or choppy sound throughout the game. Has anything changed in the code that's doing this?

I think this is probably caused by this change made on January 22nd:
https://github.com/scummvm/scummvm/comm ... a0ce7d0b0a

" DREAMWEB: Change the vsync code to use a delay, instead of an interrupt

This adjusts the screen update code to check for events more often,
which will help with the game's responsiveness on some platforms"

I wonder, it got slower in comparison with earlier version of ScummVM or is actually slower than the original? (youtube let's play videos could be a reference, or try a dosbox).

filipetolhuizen: Can you indicate what Platform / Operating System you are using? I assume you are using a ScummVM daily build, so which version that is as well? ... This would be best as a bug on bugs.scummvm.org ... but this information will help us work out if this is an issue with delay on specific platform or a more general issue with the engine?
