Quest For Glory 2 in ScummVM

Post by metzomagic »

Folks, hi,

Longtime user of DOSBox and ScummVM. So I tried to get QFG2 (from the original QFG Collection CD) working in ScummVM on Win 7 first and then MacOS, and same problem is happening in both OS. I get the initial scene where I am sitting down and talking to Abdulla. I can type things in to talk, and I can right-click on items to look at them, but that's all. The only icon/pointer on my screen is a 'sword' icon (from which you would assume means you are in combat), but I can't get it to change to a 'walk' icon so that I can get up and walk around. Very frustrating. I have tried everything I can think of in both OS for like hours now - all manner of mouse clicks and menu options. It can't be this hard for a character to get up and start walking, or can it?

I just installed the latest version of ScummVM on both OS, BTW.

Thanks in advance,
Steve

Please report the bug at https://bugs.scummvm.org/ ... We would need the exact version of the ScummVM you are using. I would suggest testing with a nightly build as well:

The sword icon is the main cursor in QfG2. To leave the table, type "stand", "stand up", "get up", or something similar.

Fair play to ya, Kurufinwe. Recognise your handle from Adventure Gamers.

Forgot that the old AG classics aren't all point n' click. 'stand' did the job, and I can probably get down from there.

Have a great festive season,
Steve
