If you see problems, please post the details here, and include details of your setup.

Since this is a beta version, full instructions are not yet available, but instructions for use are essentially the same as the previous version, so see the ScummVM DS website at http://scummvm.drunkencoders.com

the new features are working fine on this beta superfight, you just gotta get used to the new clicks. personally i like the drag for hover/tap for click feature WITHOUT the trackpad option enabled.

@agentq- Gobliins 2 and Goblins Quest 3 are running super fast  but Gobliiins is running great!

I've just run Goblins Quest 3 and it's running at normal speed for me. I'm using the English GB version. Do you have any options enabled that might affect it?

Kyrandia 2 & 3

Post by Luminious »

Kyrandia 2 - Hand of Fate Update: Full Talkie works beautifully for hand of fate. It seems to not be as slow as Malcolm's Revenge which seems to take about 1-2 minutes to even load up the title screen. Saving is not possible it seems. Sound stutteres when you bring up the ' load ' screen , but after 1 minute of stuttering, seems to finally bring up the load window. Most may think it crashed and may restart their DS's. When you click save game, stutteres yet seems to not continue.

' talk ' seems to stutter a few times then continues with the speech dialog on certain moments ( not all talk segments though )

Intro: plays completely, may stutter here and there but does not crash.

________________________________

Kyrandia 3 : Malcolm's Revenge

( Talkie version )

Takes about 1-2 minutes to load up the title screen. When title screen loads up though, music you hear **rap tune** and flows without stuttering. The problem is when you launch the game though.

Game does not load at all, crashes and end result is having to re-boot DS.

Intro: Intro does play but will crash at a certain part about 3/4 into the intro.

** non - talkie version **

takes about 1 minute to load intro screen

Seems to play decently however sometimes the mouse functions cease to recognize a ' click '. Resolution: you have to hit <- arrow on DS keypad and tap the screen which acts like a mouse click should it not be responsive to an actual tap on the screen.

Was not able to use the save function as I last tested the (( talkie version )) which was not even able to enter the game.

Conclusion: Hand of Fate seems to be more stable even though saving is not possible. Hand of Fate is a ton of fun and I feel that perhaps in the near future it will become more and more polished.

These were my findings for the new Kyrandia games as they are a BLAST to play. I look forward to future releases of ScummVM DS support and if I am really lucky and my prayers are answered..... Lands of Lore!!!!! sorry had to throw that out there. Wink wink !! ** beg ** beg.

ive tried everygame with the double click method and nothing at all happens, i would say its me, but tapping a screen isnt beyond my grasp lol. not that it matters the trackball method is my prefered choice for controlling all of my games now :)

Can't play Lure of the Temptress. It just says "could not find lure support file" and switches off.

My game files are just disk1.vga - disk4.vga and Lure.exe. I used Build G.

I got this from revolution's website as they've released it.

What file am I missing..?

Edit: Just found Lure.dat on http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Dataf ... _Temptress

I'm gonna try with that...

Edit 2: Darn "Error validating lure.dat - file is invalid or out of date"

Edit 3: http://scummvm.svn.sourceforge.net/svnr ... gine-data/

Found it... and it works great on my G6! Except.. I cannot focus on or talk to Ratpouch so I can't get very far.

Does anyone have a copy of The Bizarre Adventures of Woodruff and the Schnibble they can test? It would be good to find out if it works or not.

OK here's the specifics on the problems I found with Lure of the Temptress;

1.
Ratpouch can only be selected in the position he begins in (at the foot of the rack where you cut him free), even though he's in a different room.

2.
On the way to village, in the second tunnel screen the game crashes with one continuous tone playing - I think a soundtrack gets loaded at that point.

Otherwise, scummvm-ds is as great as ever, excellent work AgentQ!

Can you reproduce the same bug on a PC version of ScummVM 0.12.0? You should try a daily build. If you can't, have you got a save you can send me that reproduces this problem?

@chrisis: Thanks for that, I'd be very interested to know your findings.
