MD5 not recognized Myst / Riven French

Post by gamin »

Hello there.

Looks like I own two versions not yet recognized of "Myst Masterpiece Edition" and "Riven: The Sequel to Myst". Both come from the same media, a collector edition I bought on Amazon France in 2005 when Myst V came out in stores.

I wanted to report that in the bug tracker at SourceForge, but I cannot find Myst, Riven nor the Mohawk engine in any groups. So I decided to report the md5 checksums here.

According to SVN build :

Myst Masterpiece Edition French (EMME DVD Collector) : "MYST.DAT", "aea81633b2d2ae498f09072fb87263b6", 73973943
Riven French (EMME DVD Collector) : "a_Data.MHK", "aff2a384aaa9a0e0ec51010f708c5c04", 9865868

Please let me know if I need to report them somewhere else. And many thanks to the guys actually working on the Mohawk engine ;)

Well... sort of, in the development version of ScummVM, assuming the "Mohawk" engine has been enabled. You can walk around, even interact with a few things, but there are lots of things that don't work. Even more so in the Masterpiece Edition. From what I understand (I'm not involved with the game engine myself), the main focus so far has been on Riven.

Added, thanks. For Myst ME, is there a "CD Data" folder too? If so, I can hook up the Macintosh version as well.

unfortunately, no. this is a PC DVDROM only release... :( sorry I can't help on that.

edit : just checked the subversion tree. to be the most complete with the details I'm providing (according to readme files and properties of both executables) :

myst.exe : 11/01/1999 v1.0 474624bytes
riven.exe : 11/06/1997 v1.02 878592bytes

Does it have the CD Data folder anyway?

The Myst version doesn't matter to me, but the Riven one is good, thanks.

no CD Data folder at all... even tried it on a Macbook, but not working. believe me : this is a PC only release.

if you're interested, here's a screenshot of the folder structure (DVD label is "Exile DVD")

as you can see, this is a real mess ! :D inside the DATA folder, you find data files for both Myst ME and Exile... was a pain in the ass to find all the files I needed for running Myst and Riven inside ScummVM, but now I'm done :P

This would not have made a difference at all.
