German translations

Post by id1402 »

The german translations by gandimann are really great!
I installed the patches yesterday.
There are several games which were released on CD some months later after first floppy release. The enhanced CD products contain better sound and graphic quality, but unfortunately were only released in english language.
The german translations by gandimann combine the advantages of english enhanced CD versions with german text. Great job. A must for every german gamer.

The german translations site has moved to http://la-patches.gandimann.de/patches.php

The new MD5 checksums of the modified files should be included in ScummVM.

We do not, as a general policy, include MD5 checksums for fan translations. The main reason being that those simply change far too often, and we'd have to maintain an ever growing database.

However, it's not necessary for us to do this anyway, as ScummVM is able to correctly detect most fan translations anyway, and in the few cases were it doesn't do so, it's relatively easy for the user to manually fix the issue (and if you drop us a notice about the problem, we can even try to fix it, once more w/o using any MD5 checksums).

Right policy.

Here is nothing to fix. Everything works well. Thank you.
