Does anyone know who provided you guys with the third PlayFate demo recently? I did offer you the same datafiles a long time ago but for some reason no-one ever bit. Now I see somebody out there managed to retrieve them from some obscure source in the world and included the DOS-specific files as well, though I see the files are dated 1992. My .000 and .001 files are dated 1993, but the checksums match. Hmmm.

The third demo was added through a recent bug report about unknown demo version.

We never added your older files, since there were incomplete (lacking the DOS specific files).

let's explore the airport dutch demo version

Post by joma »

I found a dutch version of the demo for lets explore the airport on my disc of lets explore the farm (dutch version).
I saw that the demo was not yet listed on the demo's page on the scummvm site, so i would like to submit this demo to the scummvm devellopers.
The game gets reccognized by scummvm, but not as a demo.
It's very weird that there is a dutch version of this demo because the full version of lets explore the airport was never released in dutch.
I hope this is the right place to tell this, if not, then where can i submit this demo?
If annyone is interested in this demo, i wil create a download link using dropbox, if i have to use a different site, then please tell me.

The demo can be found here, and I opened pull request 803 to recognize the demo properly.

Nice find! Thanks for sharing!

Police Quest 2 - English DOS Non-Interactive Demo

Post by OmerMor »

Thanks to the generous help of Michael Cronsten (who's hosting a catalog of old floppies), I managed to get hold of an intact version of Police Quest 2 demo:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B5j-_ ... ldRTzJJRmM

This version is already recognized by ScummVM (same md5's as the corrupt version) and working flawlessly.

Could you please add it to your demo archive and web page?

Here's a demo of Daniel in the Lions' Den.

(For those who've never heard of it, it's from the short-lived Little Ark line, a bible-themed spinoff from Living Books.)

(I've tried editing the post like 3 ways to get the link to display right, I guess it's not happening.)

It doesn't like the "!" inside the link, that breaks the formatting

You can always just put the link in your post like it is

https://mega.nz/#!aUUSlSLC!_UuPnWtoc2Cf ... -R49KUlV4E

There you see on wich character the forum software chokes :-)

Well, that's how I did it the first time. I don't know what I could do about that.

Another find...
http://cd.textfiles.com/sprintos6/GAMEDEMO/
http://www.sierrahelp.com/Misc/Demos.html

Some demo versions are different from the ones you have... there's one, at least, that you don't have... Space Quest V: The Next Mutation.

Enjoy

The Lands of Lore: Throne of Chaos CD includes an alternative Kyrandia Book 1 demo, consisting of the introduction for the MPC release. Would this be of use?

This game is not on the list of unsupported games. It's called Silent Footsteps, and it's like the Carol Reed games. It has the exact same interface and it also takes place in Sweden, but I'm not sure where exactly. Mikael Nyqvist is a guest star. Here is the link to the demo. http://frostlindgames.com/demo.html

I tried playing it, and it does work. I get a message that says the game isn't fully supported yet by ScummVm. I started playing anyway, and it said script runtime error, but the game worked anyway. I suggest saving often because I went to a cemetery to look for clues and the game crashed. Before that I didn't have any issues.
