Clandestiny for residual?

Post by Scarecrow76 »

Perhaps the later versions of Groovie could be supported by Residual instead of SCUMMVM? Clan used 256 colors, but it also used extensive amounts of high-poly 3D objects in the gameplay areas. TLC used also used 256 colors for the gameplay areas but cutscenes employed a highly compressed video system. Plus, I've never had an issue running TLC on XP. Never tried it on anything else though.

Another engine I would love to see used is Cryo's game engine. I don't know what it was called, but it's the one they made ATLANTIS, BEYOND ATLANTIS, THE AMULET, and several other graphic adventures with.

I don't think any of the Groovie games used 3D objects in real-time, wasn't it all pre-rendered? Assuming that's the case it's a case of adding support for the custom video formats used.

There's a small video showing some progress with 'ROQ' video format playback in ScummVM - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bM7qdbEZ_Hs. Kudos to jvprat and others who continue to work on it :)

ahh cool, I remember when I was doing a fli-player (13 years ago) and saw my first results with a lot of bugs, it's always great to see something running.. keep up the great work..
