MI1 French CD without any audio tracks

Post by sebarnolds »

Hi.

I use a CD version of Monkey Island 1 (French) from a PC game magazine (PC-Team). ScummVM (latest version) detects it as Secret of Monkey Island French CD version. The problem is that I don't have any music but I have other sounds. I read on several posts that I needed to rip the audio tracks from the CD into mp3 files. The problem is that there are no audio tracks on the CD.

I found several posts that at least mention something :

There, they say that some CD versions were distributed without the audio tracks. Has anybody had that problem ? Do you know what I can do ? Would retrieving the mp3s from another source work ?

Thank you for your help,
Seb

define 'other sounds', its possible that you have the used output muted.
if you've done everything correct, then this is the most probable cause.

The most probable cause is that PC Team screwed their CD and forgot to include the audio tracks.

You'll find MP3's at the scumm bar. ScummVM is able to read MP3s as CD tracks, check the doc.

Hi and thanks for your replies.

What I meant for "other sounds" were the SFX. For example, when opening the door of the Scumm Bar, I hear the door opening sound.

I will try to download the tracks and see if it works.

The door opening sound (and generally, all sounds in MI1 apart from the music score) are not part of the CD's audio tracks

Yeah I know. I precised it so that people know that the audio is well configured in ScummVM but that, specifically, MI 1 was not playing music and didn't have any audio tracks.

Thanks,
Sebastien
