Working protection

Post by Darkbluesky »

Hello,

I want to ask if it is possible to make work the copy protection of SMI and MI2 in SCUMMVM. I have tested the MI2 and although it lets you to select the difficulty level, there is no more need of the code wheel. Maybe I'm a romantic or I am sick :? but I would like to NEED to put the code in order to play the game.

I have not tested SMI neither FOA or LastCrusade yet, but I would love also the need to use the protection.

Note: I don't mean only be able to write the protection, I mean that the game really blocks me if I don't write correctly the code.

Is this possible? I would love it!

Thanks

Simply start ScummVM with the "--copy-protection"-flag.

And the reason it's bypassed by default in the first place is that there are officially sold versions of MI2 that bypassed the code wheel themselves (and therefore had no wheel).
