Very different volume in OPL emulators

Post by vanfanel »

Hi there!

I have been wondering a long time now: why is the DOSBOX OPL volume sound so low?
Thing is: the default OPL emulator (MAME) is way less accurate so, shouldnt the DOSBOX OPL emulator be the default anyway? It takes no more CPU time even in a lowly Pi1, according to GNU/Linux "top".

This may not be the best place to ask that question  You're talking about DosBox & MAME....How does this relate to ScummVM?

ScummVM refers to its AdLib emulators as "MAME OPL emulator" (an old version, I believe), "DOSBox OPL emulator" and "Nuked OPL emulator" (the most recent one; I don't know much about it).

Edit: I misread the year for when the "Nuked OPL emulator was added"

Of course, I was referring to the OPL emulation modules in Scummvm: MAME, DOSBOX and now Nuked OPL. I am amazed that someone in this forum does not know that the OPL emulation modules go by these names inside Scummvm.
