GSOC and developing for scummvm: Questions.

Post by babaliaris » Tue Mar 26, 2019 9:53 am

I'm interesting in participating with you for this year's Google Summer Of Code and I have some questions. I can't find any related info about how exactly scummvm works. I wan't to try making a general purpose 2D Game engine which is going to be fast, not to fancy but extremely easy to use for someone who is a beginner in game development.

The point is how do I connect my engine with scummvm? Do I need to build it internally (inside scummvm's source code)? Does scummvm has some kind of API which I can use for openGL graphics?

Most of the games I played within scummvm, the game files where actually unknown to me. Probably, this is because when you make a game for scummvm you somehow build your game to work with it right? How do i do that? I just need some guidance and links if any .

ps: I'm using the #scummvm chat.

Thank you.
