Thank you, caught it!

I see Epic doesn't provide me with a game installer, rather I have to download the launcher.
Will it install my game? Will I need to be always online to be able to play the game?

You run Epic's Launcher and download via the launcher. I downloaded it via the launcher and then quit the launcher and ran the game through it's on application. It went to the main menu just fine so it appears it might be DRM-Free. This was on Mac. I think the DRM status varies by game but on this one and on a few other games I've tried it ran without the launcher.

In other forums it has been brought up that most Epic games can be made DRM-free (as in run without laucher) by creating a shortcut and adding -EpicPortal to the target path of a shortcut. Which games actually work with this method, I can't tell.
