Beavis & Butt-head in Virtual Stupidity Easter Eggs

Post by JohnnyLurg »

Hi, while I continue to wait patiently for Beavis and Butt-head Do U, Duckman: The Graphic Adventures of a Private Dick, and Wayne's World to be adapted to ScummVM, I wanted to revisit something I had heard about a couple years ago through YouTube. A YouTube user posted this easter egg from Beavis and Butt-head in Virtual Stupidity to YouTube (NSFW!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rjg5WAKqhDM

Sure enough, I was able to achieve this easter egg while playing the game on ScummVM.

The same YouTube user provided me with information regarding other easter eggs that he had been told of but had never been able to trigger:
"Location: Farm – Butt-head launches a nuclear missile out of the silo.

Location: Slaughter House – Man (disguised as Cow) gets chopped into meat and his cell phone is spit out the top of the machine."

I was wondering if anyone from ScummVM had figured out how to achieve these easter eggs as I have been wanting to view them for years. Thank you.

Not sure about those, but a quick search of the code shows that there are four codes which can be typed during the Credits scene to trigger easter eggs there:

Ah, "The Cutting Room Floor" lists those codes as Hidden Developer Movies, and has the Shotgun Easter egg, but no others shown:

There is nothing obvious in the code for this, so the other eggs if they exist are likely fully scripted. Might be possible to use the debug console options or look at the game data to work out what the likely trigger conditions are if they exist.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but the remaining easter eggs were finally discovered two weeks ago, having remained hidden for 23 years.

Video of both eggs and some more details.
