According to Strangerke, you need "data1.cab":

..however, like I pointed out in that thread, my version of this game doesn't come with any .cab files at all.

It doesn't work. I have copied the complete data from CD (german CD-ROM version). Folders MUSIC, ROASTED and VOICES and all other files. ScummVM 1.6 don't found the game.

Can you give us some instructions, please? The game needs to be installed first on a windows machine? Or works it only with the English version?

If you're using the Windows version of ScummVM v1.6.0, make sure that you're using the updated version.
v1.6.0 for Windows was recompiled on June 6th, supposedly to include the missing "tony.dat"-file.
If you don't want to reinstall ScummVM, you can find the missing file here:
https://raw.github.com/scummvm/scummvm/ ... a/tony.dat

Anyway, it still won't detect my English version..

SvummVM: 1.6.0 for MacOS
MacOS 10.8.4 (current version)
Tony Tough CD-Rom, German version

Thanks for the hint with tony.dat. I will try it.

Maybe your observations are related to the reported issue with detecting several versions of Tony:

http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=de ... tid=418820

Changing the detection table and recompile scummvm from source gave me proper detection of my German "Shoebox" version.

Please, can anybody tell me what are the minimum needed files to run Tony Tough? I can't find an entry in the "Game Data Files"-section. :(
I copied the whole CD, but i want to delete unnecesseray files.

Thx!

I still got a problem wiht my german cd-version.
I think i copied all necessary files and folders:

Music/*.*
Music/Layer/*.*
Music/utilsfx/*.*
Roasted/*.*
Voices/*.*
data1.cab

But my data1.cab is only 4230Bytes! ScummVM can't recognize it.
Here is the ScummVM-output (Version 1.6.0 June 6 2013 10:30:12):

Code: Select all

{"data1.cab", 0, "d484bfdfb20327b171319772dc8a6ba2", 4230}
Edit:
I downloaded the source and checked "detection_tables.h" in the Tony-Engine. Couldn't find a game-description that matches my files. I will try to compile it but it failed on my system... hope this is the right source-file. I added the following checksums und file-sizes for my version:

Code: Select all

{"roasted.mpr", 0, "f369786a4691ea0613a54f18a7741ddc", 135911071},
{"roasted.mpc", 0, "08ab8504eb6529f14b1bf5f0931933aa", 389904},
I got this version ("explosiv", german):
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51T1MKX3HZL.jpg

hope that helps.

It don't work. One year later I've tried it again.
Unfortunately, no success. Does it really work?
Has anyone get the game to run with ScummVM 1.6?

And still no entry in the Wiki...
