UK didn't get a release of the 2nd game, US version "Wanted" didn't get the bonus copy of the 1st game. French and German copies of the 2nd game could indeed come with the bonus but they will be localised.

Does that really work? I can't get the pages to work at all on my Linux box (maybe because Adobe hasn't released the "latest version of a Flash Player" for Linux) [insert rant about Flash pages here] and when I try to download the demo on Windows all I get is an XML document telling me that "The requested URL was not found on this server".

There is a file to download if the URL is created properly:
http://www.game-nostalgia.com/3skulls/zip/3skulls.zip
Sadly, it's not a ZIP (or any recognized archive format), plus it seems to be too small (9MB) to be the demo - allegedly, the German demo is around 50MB

Sorry for that, I was just warned by one of the members that the demo isn't working. It is indeed the wrong size (and not working). Will upload a working demo after this posting.

Many thanks! This is a very rare demo :) It works out of the box in ScummVM - I've added an entry for it

Missing files?

Post by Mister Floppy »

Hi,

I've tried all the demos from your download links, but SCUMMVM v1.5.0 always says it could not detect a game! The only one included in the archive is "WESTERN". Is there a file missing?

Cheers,

As mentioned in the announcement, this game isn't supported in the stable version 1.5.0, but in the latest unstable version of ScummVM, which can be found here:

I think I have a Windows Version of the game "3 skulls of the toltecs". Is there any plan to support the windows version, too?

Just in case, could you verify that your version isn't already detected/supported properly?

Thank you for your answer. I tried my version with the last unstable build - Tony Tough was working - but my version of Toltecs was not (two weeks ago). I can try another time on friday or saturday.

The data file behind the DOS/Windows version is the same - was for my English and German copies anyway.

Thank you for your answer. I checked my CD-Rom... It is the Gold Version zipped in two CAB files and so the answer was unextracting or installing the version on the harddisc and then finding the files to use.

Yes, it was a really silly mistake, but I never had the problem that I have to unextract files for ScummVM.

You only need one file to run the game, the one named WESTERN

You are right... but the file is not on the CD-Rom "3 Skulls of Toltecs - Gold" - you have to unextract the CAB-files or to install the game to find the file WESTERN.
