Re: PC original vs PS4/PC remastered?

Yeah, impletenting that realtime 3D scene into Residual would be quite a task, i imagine. xD

My point was actually that the guy who made this could help out the GF Deluxe team by providing high res background renders, higher poly character models, etc.^^

Is there a version of Wine for Windows 7/8 64bit? Would be pretty useful for old 16bit apps...

Re: Double Fine is making Grim Fandango Remastered!

The backgrounds look basically untouched, this is underwhelming... I understand that revising every background in photoshop would be too expensive, but they could have at least applied some filter to the backgrounds.

Google "Sierra Copy Protection Compendium" and you'll find what you need. It's a html version of all released Sierra copy protections, which you can view on your phone's browser. Should be legally irrelevant by now.

Speaking of which, doesn't gog have the rights to this game? (cough!) :D It's quite possible, since the developer Metropolis Software was acquired by CD Projekt Sp. z o.o., which coincidentally is the owner of GoG.com ;) I think ScummVM compatiblity would be a great opportunity to release this game...

I was curious, so I've just tested the German version and it already runs! I've had to change the Folder structure a little (create a "data" folder within the data folder and move some files) but the game starts and runs flawlessly including all the german speach, and all the animations fr...

As far as Sierra is concerned, unfortunately most of their later games (games using the SCI engine) are currently still unsupported, and will stay that way for a long while. But there are some SCI games that are already playable such as SQ4, SQ5, KQ4, KQ5, KQ6, PQ3, Larry 5, GK and possibly more.

I just can't believe they are sticking with the old models from 1998... So it appears GF Deluxe will still have it's relevance after all.

Re: I just completed Monkey Island 4 in ResidualVM. Great jo

Does Residual support the PS2 version? It would be a shame not to support it, because that version was the most definite version you could get, since it was on DVD it had much more space than the 2 discs on the PC version. Most notably better quality FMVs, music and backgrounds and in fact higher p...

Re: Mouse interface for Grim Fandango (Fan made mod)

As for EMI, it has a more complex system, where each hotspot has a multitude of actions available on it (sometimes you also interact with off screen objects, see for instance the very first scene, where you can look at pirates, unloaded cannons etc, none of which are on screen. This would presumabl...
