And then I used File Roller (a Gnome program) to extract it successfully.

There's a cost...but you can't be bothered to articulate what it is, apparently.

Yes. That one works just fine. Very strange so...whatever. It works now, whatever it is you did. Thanks.

No, I don't think the program used is the issue. Have you tried testing/extracting yourself? I mean, just the updated one because the original I had no problem with. I only get a zero-byte file when I extract and the command-line error I get reads: 7-Zip [64] 9.13 beta Copyright (c) 1999-2010 Igor P...

There seems to be problem with the zip file of the full-size poster or at least with the jpeg inside. I've downloaded it several times--different computers, different browsers--and each time the jpeg isn't readable by anything. But maybe I'm just very unlucky somehow. Anybody else have this problem?

English voices are available now. I haven't played with it much in English, but what I've heard so far is pretty good. But it's also weird. I got used to playing BS2.5 in German and hearing the dialog in English feels wrong somehow.

Good catch, Graxer. It never even occurred to me to suspect a new library was required for BS 2.5. And, lo and behold, that's just what I was missing in both Fedora and OSX. ... OK. I've hit something odd with OSX. When I ran 'make' it aborted with this: /sw/include/theora/theora.h:182: error: comma...

OK. Fresh build and I am getting the same output as Graxer. So I reran ScummVM to get debugging info. I'd prefer to be able to put this in a bug report but as that's not an option yet, and the output is actually too long for one post, I'll only just note that in addition to what Graxer had asked me ...

Not sure yet. It's been a few days since I last built ScummVM in Fedora. It'll be a little while until I can make a fresh build and then we'll see what I get then.

Re: Broken Sword 2.5

the current Sword25 engine still needs some work Probably why the video is so choppy in Windows and it simply crashes in Fedora when launched. But you're right to point that out. Me just referring to SVN probably wasn't clear enough that this isn't ready for prime time. And, yeah, Red_Breast...

Broken Sword 2.5

I noticed the other day browsing SVN that support for Broken Sword 2.5 is being introduced. And from the BS 2.5 site that English voices are maybe just days away from being released. Altogether, pretty damn cool.

It may suffer a crash, but mine crashed because I can't figure out how to make a build on Leopard that works with Tiger (and apparently won't work all that well on Leopard other than on my own machine).

I don't think ResidualVM can be set to software rendering. At least, the setting doesn't seem to change when I try although the readme says software mode is available. Anyway, this has now gotten beyond my abilities and knowledge. The only thing I can suggest at this point is that you learn how to c...

I have the feeling the guy sees ScummVM as a business and himself as a customer...and of the genus who thinks they can bully and bluster their way to better service. Now that I'm no longer in that line of work, I find it very comical (especially since ScummVM isn't a business  ).

SwedeBear, to be clear, it sounds from what you are saying that my build of ResidualVM runs on your G4 Mac but only on a partition running OS 10.5.x. Is that right? You state clearly that it fails to run under your 10.4 partition, so I'm guessing this is the case. (BTW, you really should be running ...
